Dean's Dream

Welcome

Hello and welcome to Dean's Dream.Dean's Dream is to someday improve his vision. Dean Brewer is an 11 year old boy that attends Winkley Elem. In Leander TX. Dean is diagnosed with ONH (Optic Nerve Hypoplasia). This means that Dean can see about 10 feet. He was born this way but with the help of a Stem Cell transplant we are hoping to improve his vision. He will be leaving Austin on May 27, 2010 to receive a Stem Cell transplant in China. He will be accompanied by his mom, dad and little sister. We will be in China for 33 days where he will receive six doses of Stem Cells from umbilical cord blood. This will be administered through IV or spinal injections. The cost of the procedure is 30,000. This includes lodging for the entire family in the hospital, meals, airfare and the treatment. While in China Dean will also receive therapy services to better his recovery.  Stem Cell transplants are being used for more and more medical conditions everyday.
